I am incredibly pleased to announce that for the sixth year in a row, we have been able to keep the annual premium change on the Alliance Health Plan under 5%. We work hard to maintain a best-in-class plan that is financially viable for the Alliance family while keeping premium rates as low as possible. As medical and prescription drug costs trend increasingly higher each year, this has become more difficult. However, we are pleased to be able to share that the medical portion of the premium will only increase by 4% for 2023, along with a $1-$2 change on the vision plan depending on your coverage level. All other rates for the plan will remain the same for the coming year.

We are also excited to announce another year of loyalty rewards for those who maintain continuous coverage with Alliance Benefits. Please refer to the charts below for rates on both the premium and standard health plan bundles, along with the different loyalty reward tiers.

As a refresher, the Alliance Health Plan is a Health Savings Account eligible High Deductible Health Plan. What that means is that – even though many other plans have much higher deductibles – the Alliance plan comes equipped with a tax sheltered Health Savings Account (HSA) to utilize when paying your share of medical and prescription bills. In fact, this account can be used to pay for all kinds of eligible medical, vision, and dental expenses. To help our members with funding the HSA, a monthly contribution to this account is included in each month’s premium (see rate chart above). This contribution equates annually to half of that year’s deductible for each coverage level. Additionally, HSAs never expire or require the account holder to use them within the calendar year, unlike other medical spending accounts.

In addition to the unique plan design, the Alliance Health Plan includes a top-notch telemedicine service that is free of charge for most calls, but only a $25 fee if a prescription is written during the virtual visit. This service, provided by our partners at First Stop Health, allows a member to receive care in the comfort of their own home while potentially avoiding the cost of an in-person Urgent Care, Emergency Room, or Doctor’s Office visit. This past summer, we expanded this service with Virtual Primary Care, allowing our members to schedule recurring visits with a physician licensed in their state that can provide specialist referrals, help refill maintenance medications, review medical history, answer complex questions, and so much more.

Finally, the Alliance Health Plan offers even more ways to earn additional HSA dollars through our wellness incentive plan, Take A Healthy Step. This program allows an individual the opportunity to earn $250 each year (or $500 for a family) into their HSA just by participating in improving their own health. It’s one additional way to help with the out-of-pocket portion of medical expenses throughout the year.

I’m extremely proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish over these past 5 years in my time as Executive Director, and we have even more exciting things coming that will improve the member experience even further. If you or your church are not part of the Alliance Health Plan but would be interested in learning more, I would encourage you to contact our office at (800) 700-2651 or [email protected]. We would love to do a benefit comparison for your group or answer any questions you might have about the plan.

We love serving those who serve the Lord. It’s our mission and the heart of the team I have the privilege to lead. It is my prayer that the service we provide allows our pastors, our staff members, and our international workers to be more effective in expanding the reach of the gospel. May God richly bless your ministry in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

Grace and peace,
