Alliance Benefits is located in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
We serve The Christian and Missionary Alliance by providing retirement and health plan benefits to the employees and pastors of Alliance churches, International Workers, the National Office, and affiliated support organizations. We are under the direction of The Christian and Missionary Alliance Benefits Board.
Our passion is to serve The Christian and Missionary Alliance churches, supporting organizations, employees, and retirees by designing, implementing, and administering competitive, cost-effective group insurance and retirement programs. Curtis Farmer
Executive Director of Alliance Benefits
Curtis joined Alliance Benefits in September of 2017. He is responsible for the overall administration and direction of all aspects of Alliance Benefits, including the health and retirement plans for Alliance workers in both the United States and internationally. Curtis interacts with multiple audiences including the National Office, districts, churches, international workers, C&MA supporting organizations, third party consultants, and member associations such as The Church Benefit Association, Church Alliance, and Christian Alliance for Benefits. He considers it a privilege to serve and work with all those he comes in contact with and is passionate about presenting a comprehensive and affordable benefit solution to the Alliance family.
Curtis and his wife Holly live in Colorado Springs, CO. They have two teenage children and two dogs—Timber, named after their favorite soccer team and Bella, an Australian Shepherd who loves the snow. When not rooting for his favorite sports teams, Curtis is also passionate about worship and arts within the church and enjoys leading worship when the opportunity allows. Curtis also loves photography and has been a portrait photographer for nearly a decade.
×Don Wagner
Manager of Finance for Alliance Benefits
Don became a part of the Alliance Benefits team in November 2015. He brought with him experience working in accounting and finance from other ministries — Compassion International and David C. Cook. Don and his wife, June, also served as tentmaker missionaries to Japan.
As the Manager of Finance, he is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the benefits office. These include billing, cash management, payables, the monthly financial close, year-end processing, and the filing of various tax documents.
Don and June have four grown children. They like to travel, hike, and visit the kids. He is our resident Cheesehead and supports various sports teams in addition to being a soccer referee.
×Denise Bowers
Benefits Office Assistant
Denise started working for The Christian and Missionary Alliance in July of 1999. In July of 2000, she joined the Alliance Benefits team as the Office Assistant for both the Health and 403(B) Retirement Plans.
Denise performs general office administrative functions for the Alliance Benefits office. She helps to keep the endless paperwork flowing and the office organized. She also brings down-to-earth humor and real-world insights to her devotional presentations which are enjoyed by all her co-workers.
Denise is a native of Colorado Springs. She enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren. Life in Colorado provides Denise with many opportunities to practice her hobby of taking pictures of nature, flowers, and birds.
×Teresa Hunter
Billing and Data Service Representative
Teresa joined Alliance Benefits in June 2008. She came to The Christian and Missionary Alliance with 10 years of experience in secretarial and administrative positions.
Teresa handles data entry for health coverage enrollments, terminations, and changes for participants on the domestic and international health plans. She also processes monthly billing of health insurance premiums, Fellowship Fund payroll, and handles Medicare correspondence for participants on the health plan.
Outside of work at the office, some of Teresa’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her husband, walking, watching movies, and reading.
×Beth Knight-Pinneo
Benefits Consultant
Beth joined Alliance Benefits in January 2001. In her role as Benefits Consultant, she focuses on building relationships with churches and districts, and assisting with Health Plan and 403(b) questions. She is assigned to serve the churches and districts in the Western and Southern US, and the multi-cultural districts.
Beth grew up in Japan where her parents served with TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission). She loves people and enjoys relating to a wide variety of people of different backgrounds. Beth loves to teach, encourage, and pray with people as the opportunity arises.
Beth loves living in Colorado with her husband, Mitch, and two children. Beth and Mitch enjoy cooking together, sharing long Bible discussions as a family and with friends, or watching movies together. The household is full, with two dogs, three birds, and a 19-year-old water turtle.
×Aaron Mitchell
Benefits Consultant
Aaron joined Alliance Benefits in September 2017. As a Benefits Consultant, he works on building relationships with churches and districts, and assists with insurance and retirement 403(b) questions. He is assigned to serve the churches and districts in the Midwestern and Northeastern United States.
Aaron was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire and is a University of New Hampshire graduate. He later moved on to working for the benefits office at the University of Missouri where he gained experience and served their many employees on four campuses over nine years.
Now living in Colorado with his wife Sarah, Aaron loves his church and has especially been involved in the Bible studies and men’s ministries that are offered. He enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, biking, hiking, camping, and fishing.
×Crista Murray
Marketing and Communications
Crista Murray joined Alliance Benefits in June 2009 and has been with The Christian and Missionary Alliance for almost twenty years serving in various roles. The Alliance family has captured her heart and she counts it a joy and a privilege to serve our people. She is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day execution of marketing strategies and communication efforts for both the health and retirement plans.
Crista was married in January 2010 (to an IT guy who works at the National Office!) and enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, walking the dogs, camping, traveling, football games, and shopping with her mom and sisters.
×Megan Hayden
Customer Care Representative
Megan joined Alliance Benefits in December 2017, bringing 6 years of prior experience in customer service, as well as 4 years of experience with a bilingual church of the PCA as their administrative assistant in El Paso, TX.
Megan manages customer service for employees enrolled in both the domestic and international health plans, as well as for employees enrolled the 403(b) Retirement Plan. Being fluent in Spanish, she also serves as the primary contact for our Spanish-speaking churches.
Outside the office, Megan enjoys reading and spending time with her family, as well as activities with her churches, Village Seven Presbyterian and Spanish-speaking Iglesia de la Roca.
