Alliance family ,

I am extremely happy to announce that for the seventh year in a row, we have been able to keep the annual premium change on the Alliance Domestic Health Plan under 5%. Our desire is to maintain a best-in-class plan that is financially viable for the Alliance family, while keeping premium rates as low as possible. As medical and prescription drug cost continue to rise each year, this becomes more difficult to do. However, we are pleased to be able to share with you that the medical portion of the domestic plan premium will only increase by 4% for 2024.

We are also extremely excited to introduce a second plan option for the upcoming 2024 plan year. This plan option will have a lower premium cost that will hopefully allow more of our Alliance family to participate in the plan. This plan will also be a high-deductible plan and we have decided to offer a $250 (employee only) or $500 (family) one-time contribution from Alliance Benefits into the participants HSA account for any NEW participants who are not currently participating in our health plan. Our new plans are the Silver plan which is our current plan with premium and standard options. We are also adding the Bronze plan which will also include the premium and standard options.

In addition to this change we are also changing our Third-Party Administrator (TPA) from HealthComp to Allied, our Network Provider from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (Domestic) and CIGNA (International) to First Health Network, and lastly our Pharmaceutical Benefit Manager (PBM) from Express Scripts to MedOne with VIVIO who will provide specialty drug management.

We understand that changes can be difficult, but we also believe that God is aligning us in a position that will allow for a growth mindset. In the book of Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. We know that change is sometimes difficult, but if we are being obedient to God everything will work out for the good! So, my prayer is that these changes offer more of an option to more of our churches and leaders. In addition, we are excited to announce another year of loyalty rewards for those who maintain continuous coverage with Alliance Benefits. Please refer to the charts below for rates on both our current silver plan premium and standard health plan bundles, along with our new bronze plan premium and standard health plan bundles.

As a refresher, the Alliance Health Plan is a Health Savings Account eligible High Deductible Health Plan. What that means is that – even though many other plans have much higher deductibles – the Alliance plan comes equipped with a tax sheltered Health Savings Account (HSA) to utilize when paying your share of medical and prescription bills. In fact, this account can be used to pay for all kinds of

eligible medical, vision, and dental expenses. To help our members with funding the HSA, a monthly contribution to this account is included in each month’s premium (see rate chart above). This contribution equates annually to half of that year’s deductible for each coverage level. Additionally, HSAs never expire or require the account holder to use them within the calendar year, unlike other medical spending accounts.

In addition to the unique plan design, the Alliance Health Plan includes a top-notch telemedicine service that is free of charge for most calls, but only a $25 fee if a prescription is written during the virtual visit. This service, provided by our partners at First Stop Health, allows a member to receive care in the comfort of their own home while potentially avoiding the cost of an in-person Urgent Care,

Emergency Room, or Doctor’s Office visit. This past summer, we expanded this service with Virtual Primary Care, allowing our members to schedule recurring visits with a physician licensed in their state that can provide specialist referrals, help refill maintenance medications, review medical history, answer complex questions, and so much more.

Finally, the Alliance Health Plan offers even more ways to earn additional HSA dollars through our wellness incentive plan, Take A Healthy Step. This program allows an individual the opportunity to earn $250 each year (or $500 for a family)into their HSA just by participating in improving their own health. It’s one additional way to help with the out-of-pocket portion of medical expenses throughout the year.

I am so thankful for what we have been able to accomplish this year as I enter this role as Executive Director. If you or your church are not part of the Alliance Health Plan but would be interested in learning more, I would encourage you to contact our office at (800) 700-2651 or [email protected]. We would love to do a benefit comparison for your group or answer any questions you might have about the plan.

We absolutely love serving those who labor in the vineyard of the Lord. It is our hearts desire to serve this family well. I pray that the changes we have made this year allows for more of our pastors, our church leaders, our staff members, and our international workers to be more effective in expanding our reach of the gospel. May God continue to shine upon you and richly bless you and your ministry as you move forward.

Blessings,

Executive Director for Alliance Benefits
