Open Enrollment 2026 is your annual opportunity to review, update, and make changes to your health coverage. Whether you’re enrolling for the first time or adjusting your current plan, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process with confidence:

Review Your Current Coverage

Start by reviewing your existing benefits. Are your healthcare needs the same as last year? Are your preferred providers still in-network? Understanding what you currently have helps you make informed decisions.

Consider Upcoming Life Changes

Open Enrollment is your chance to adjust your coverage for 2026. It’s the right time to add or remove dependents, update your plan based on changing health needs, or prepare for upcoming life events.

But life doesn’t always follow the Open Enrollment calendar. If you experience a Qualifying Life Event, you don’t have to wait to make changes. You’re eligible to update your benefits within 30 days of events like:

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Loss of other coverage
  • Moving to a new ZIP code or state

For births, the Alliance Health Plan gives you extra time: you have 60 days to make updates. Just don’t forget to notify us—friends don’t let friends not report their babies!

To update your coverage based on a qualifying life event, please visit our Forms page and look for the Qualifying Event Change form.

Explore All Your Options

Plans and providers can change from year to year. Take time to compare:

  • Monthly premiums
  • Coverage for specialty medications
  • Network changes

In 2026, The Alliance Health Plan is improving our provider networks. Your provider network will now be based on your home address, not your employer’s location.

  • If you live in Ohio (or select Kentucky ZIP codes), your network will be Medical Mutual.
  • If you live outside Ohio, your network will be Cigna.

New ID cards will arrive in the mail and coverage starts January 1, 2026

Our third-party administrator (TPA) is CareFactor. This is the name you’ll use when identifying your insurance—for example, when filling out forms or speaking with providers. Your TPA handles claims and customer service, while your provider network determines which doctors and facilities are in-network.

Don’t Miss the Deadline

Open Enrollment only lasts a few weeks. For Alliance Health Plan members, your enrollment period runs from October 27 to November 14. Submit your forms and updates before the deadline to ensure your coverage continues smoothly.

Enrollment is passive, so you only need to act if you want to make changes.
