4-3-3-0-2: Those numbers may not mean much to you on the surface, but they are truly a testament to God’s goodness and our ability to help take care of His people. For those on the Alliance Health Plan here in the U.S., those numbers are significant. In the paragraphs below, I’ll tell you why.

As we enter the fall season, many of us are already looking toward the new year and what 2022 may hold for our church, our family, our budgets, and even our healthcare. In a time when many of our pastors and workers are seeing double-digit percentage increases to their health insurance each year, we are thrilled to announce an incredibly competitive renewal for next year’s domestic Alliance Health Plan.

Earlier this month, the C&MA Benefit Board approved a 2% increase to the medical portion of the U.S. health plan for 2022. A rate chart can be seen below, outlining each component of the plan’s cost. You will notice that ONLY the medical cost (the first box) is increasing at this small rate. As with the last several years, the cost of the other components (dental, vision, life insurance, disability) are all remaining at 2021 levels. This makes the total cost change even lower.

Additionally, we are pleased to continue the Loyalty Rewards program. If you are renewing your healthcare with Alliance Benefits, you are eligible for a loyalty reward of either 1, 2, or 3 percent off the medical portion of your total premium. If your church or organization joined the health plan in the last three years, you will see your savings increase! The amounts of those loyalty rewards are listed below.

So what do those numbers – 4-3-3-0-2 – mean to our participating churches, camps, and colleges? Those are the last five percentage renewals for the U.S. Alliance Health Plan: a 4% increase in 2018, 3% in 2019, 3% in 2020, no increase in 2021, and now a 2% increase in 2022. This type of renewal pattern over a five year period is not only incredible but a testament to God’s kindness and mercy to the people we serve. We know that in these trying times, budgets are tight, and every dollar is precious. We are excited to partner with the Alliance family to make healthcare as affordable as possible while keeping the plan financially viable.

Not only is the plan cost-competitive in the healthcare market, but it’s also incredibly difficult to find a plan as robust and tailored for our Alliance workers as this plan. The Alliance Health Plan includes a top notch telemedicine program that combines convenience and low-to-zero cost for help, a Health Savings Account (HSA) built into the premium that will cover half of a participant’s deductible over the calendar year, a free employee assistance program with coaching, legal, and educational resources, and a revolutionary wellness plan that puts money back into your HSA (up to $500) for participating in programs and preventative care that cost you nothing. And all of this comes with the assistance of an Alliance Benefits team that loves, knows, and wants to serve our Alliance family well. You simply can’t find a better value.

We know that healthcare is costly. We understand that it’s sometimes confusing to understand your alternatives in the healthcare marketplace. We understand that budgets are stretched. But we want to encourage you that we are doing everything we can to offer a solution to our Alliance family that is both affordable as possible and cutting edge in the market. A good health plan is an integral part of taking care of your pastor, staff members, and employees.
