More About Our New Wellness Program

By Curtis Farmer, Alliance Benefits

Not only are we thrilled to share that health plan rates are staying the same for 2021, but we also can’t wait to tell you more about our new Wellness and Employee Assistance Programs! The Alliance Health Plan is partnering with Workpartners LifeSolutions, presenting a unique holistic approach to participants and their families’ overall health. Services will address every aspect of well-being and offer access to personalized wellness tools and counseling services, support over the phone, and the opportunity to explore online resources. All this is available at no additional cost and begins in January 2021. Even better, members will also have the ability to earn extra HSA dollars while participating!

Let’s dive into more of the details:

Offering Healthy Living Support

This new wellness initiative umbrellas two components, including the (1) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and (2) Take a Healthy Step program. Together, these programs will provide helpful ways to:

  • Increase physical activity
  • Manage weight
  • Eat healthier
  • Reduce life stress
  • Earn additional HSA dollars!

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistant Program (EAP) will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and provide:

  • Coaching and counseling, occurring in person, over the phone, or by video
  • Ways to improve relationships, manage stress or life changes, cope with losing a loved one, and more
  • Referrals for childcare, elder care, and daily living needs
  • Help with obtaining legal and financial resources
  • Designated work-life section on the website, featuring Skill Builder courses, webinars, and other valuable resources

These LifeSolutions’ services are private, confidential, and available to you and members of your household at no cost.

The Take a Healthy Step Program

As part of this wellness program, health plan participants will have the opportunity to take an active role in their health decisions while earning additional HSA dollars at the same time! Workpartners and MyHealth Online are working together to bring you the Take a Healthy Step program.

How Does It Work?

The Take a Healthy Step program gives members the chance to gain additional HSA contributions by taking healthy steps, completing specific requirements, and earning incentive points. Some examples of how to achieve these points are by:

  • Participating in health promotion programs either in person, in groups, by telephone, online, or through self-study
  • Engaging in EAP, Wellness, and KnovaSolutions® videos and services
  • Completing an annual biometric screening, or physical, dental, and vision exams

For 2021, requirements include:

  • Completing the MyHealth survey (online health assessment)
  • Earning an additional 200 Healthy Step points from any combination of items on the incentive list

All employees and their spouses (if applicable) participating in the health plan are eligible to earn incentive points. Once they complete the survey and achieve their annual incentive points (200 points for employee only, and 200+200 points for employee and spouse), the following HSA dollar amounts will credit to the employee’s account:

  • $250 for employee-only plan
  • $500 for employee + children plan
  • $500 for employee + spouse plan
  • $500 for a family plan

Health plan participants can expect to receive more details about logging into their account and how to get started from Workpartners and MyHealth Online in the coming days!
