Where for Care?

By Crista Murray, Alliance Benefits

The excitement builds as we look forward to spending time with family and friends over the Fourth of July weekend. As we celebrate, did you know that over 74 million Americans are planning to grill out, we will consume 150 million hotdogs, 40% of us will attend a fireworks display, and nearly 47 million will venture 50 or more miles from home over the long weekend?

With fun-filled activities and more people on the go, this particular holiday is known for being one of the most dangerous. Emergency rooms see an increase in extreme sunburn cases, heat exhaustion and dehydration, food poisoning, and traffic accident or firework-related injuries. These are only to name a few.

Alliance Benefits wishes you a safe and wonderful holiday weekend. We thought this would be a good time to offer some reminder tips on when it’s best to use either telemedicine, urgent care or emergency room services if the need arises. This helpful flyer, Where For Care, is provided by our health plan consultants from Benefit Dynamics Company.

A very Happy Fourth of July to you and yours!
