Your Preventative Care

Research shows that wellness care benefits both you and your health plan. With that in mind, we’ve built a strong benefit for your annual check-up. Your provider or you may call Highmark with procedure codes and diagnosis codes to verify if specific services will be covered.

 

Preventive Services

Routine physical, gynecological exams, mammograms, and other preventive services Please refer to Highmark Preventive Schedule and call Highmark for details.

 

Basic Diagnostic Services

Lab, x-ray, allergy testing, and other diagnostic tests; please call Highmark for details.

 

Annual Flu Shot

Alliance Benefits provides participants with a free flu shot coupon for scheduled clinics each fall for participants age 9 and older.

  • Please look for e-mail bulletins with details, or call Alliance Benefits.

For children under 9, or if you do not attend a flu shot clinic:

  • Some patients may be able to receive a flu shot as a Preventive Service benefit at a PPO provider. Please call Highmark for details.
  • If you receive a flu shot at a non-PPO provider, it is not a covered service.
