Prescription drug coverage, administered by two companies Medco Health and NPS Pharmacy, is included in all Alliance Benefits medical plans. You may purchase your medications at many retail pharmacies or take advantage of a mail-order option for your maintenance medications.

You may wish to switch to generic drugs since prescription medication has become more expensive. Generic drugs contain the same active ingredients as their brand-name equivalents, yet are less expensive. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that generic drugs meet the same high standards for quality and purity, so they offer the same safety and effectiveness as brand-name drugs.
