Employee changes

Some benefits changes can only be made at specified times. If you are not sure, please ask Alliance Benefits.

 

Employers Must Notify Alliance Benefits of These Changes

As an employer, it is your responsibility to notify Alliance Benefits within 30 days when an enrolled employee:

  • Ends employment
  • Transfers employment
  • Begins severance
  • Begins leave of absence
  • Drops to less than 20 hours per week

 

Forms and Details

 

Changes You May Make At Any Time
  • Enroll employees in Health Plan if your church is participating for the first time.
  • Enroll employee(s) in 403(b), or change Contribution Amounts on 403(b).

 

Changes You May Make During Annual Open Enrollment
  • Enrolled members may change between health plans (for example, Plan A to Plan B).
  • Employees may enroll themselves or add dependents
  • Please watch for a November mailing with details.

 

Changes You May Make Within 30 Days of A Qualifying Event
  • Employees may make certain changes within 30 days of qualifying events. 
  • Employees may be able to enroll a dependent or increase life insurance in connection with certain events. Please encourage employees to contact Alliance Benefits promptly.

 

Medicare and the Employer

If you as the employer experience a change in the total number of employees (full-time, part-time, or seasonal), not just those enrolled in benefit plans, you must notify Alliance Benefits within 30 days if the total number of employees rises above 20, or drops below 20.
