Basic Life for U.S. Employees
To help give you and your family extra peace of mind, the C&MA provides you with the following coverage as part of your medical plan package:
- $30,000 Basic Life insurance

- $30,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Voluntary Life
If you choose, you may purchase additional life insurance coverage for yourself up to $250,000, for your spouse up to $50,000, and for your child(ren) up to $10,000.
- To begin or increase Voluntary Life Insurance after the 30-day eligibility period, ask Alliance Benefits how to apply, subject to approval.
- For active employees age 65 and up, coverage decreases to a percentage of the full benefit.
Retiree Life Insurance
Alliance Benefits offers $7,500 of Basic Life insurance coverage to eligible retirees, which does not reduce with age. The cost of this coverage is $5 per month. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must have at least 20 years of service with the C&MA..
- You must retire from the C&MA at age 65 or older and must no longer be employed full-time by the C&MA.
- You must be enrolled in C&MA life insurance at the time of retirement.
- You must inform Alliance Benefits within 30 days of your retirement.
