The Alliance Benefits team has put together a few tips below regarding your health benefits for the 2019 plan year. Our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible in the coming days so that you are well-equipped when facing important health-care decisions.
Vision Coverage Clarification
We’ve updated the wording on page 12 of the 2019 Benefit Summary Guide to better clarify your vision coverage benefits. We’ve changed the wording from “Every 12 months” to “Once per calendar year” where applicable. This language better states that you are now allowed to visit your vision provider once any time during the calendar year rather than having to wait until exactly one year from your last date of service.
Timely Eligibility Notification
Alliance Benefits cannot stress enough the importance of notifying us within 30 days whenever there is a life-changing event. These life-changing events include adding your newborn, getting married and adding your spouse, ending employment and so on. If we are not notified within 30 days, you will have to wait until the next Open Enrollment period to make any changes to your plan. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about this. It is always better to be safe than sorry and we are more than happy to help.
